Welcoming OEA
WELCOMING OEA
Signworks was proud to hostOmaha Executives Association – OEA – to our building last week. Our company has been a member of OEA since 1970, in fact Dorsey Olson, third generation owner of Signworks, served as president of the networking group in 1997.
We have worked with several OEA members to create signs for their businesses, but only a few have seen our facility and the process of making a sign. When our scheduled craft talk presentation to the group was approaching, Gaby had the idea to invite the group to our facility, as opposed to a traditional powerpoint presentation about how to build a sign. “You don’t get it until you see it,” Gaby said.
More than 60 OEA members attended the lunch event and listened to a brief presentation about the history of Signworks before a guided tour of the facility. They were treated to a brief neon demonstration, as well as a look at the process of a completing a sign from fabrication to painting and lighting, and an inside look at creating vinyl signs of all sizes.
“It was great to see the creativity that goes into making a sign,” said OEA member Lee Ehlers from Investors Realty . “Traditional craft talks are great, but by seeing this, we were able to get more ideas by actually seeing the different sign options.”
OEA member Mike Berlin of Excel Physical Therapy has been working with Signworks to provide signs for his numerous locations for many years. “It is huge for us to be able to see the work they do here,” he said. “I never would have gotten the same idea from a talk because a picture doesn’t do it justice.” Both Ehlers and Berlin are interested in incorporating some of the features they saw on the tour into future sign projects.
We are always proud to show our facility and the craftsmanship of our talented crew. Stop by – we would love to show you around!
