A Nice Testimonial and Endorsement We Received
Signworks would like to thank the Wyman Heights Neighborhood Association in Omaha for taking the time to recognize our efforts in providing them with a sign that properly meets their needs. It was a pleasure working with you!
Also, thank you to Pete Festersen, Omaha City Council member, for his work in keeping Omaha beautiful and for recognizing and encouraging the way in which proper signage can enhance neighborhoods.
"Dear Gaby,
On behalf of the Wyman Heights Neighborhood Association, we want to thank Signworks for building and installing the neighborhood entrance sign. The sign is perfect! We truly appreciate the time and expertise you personally dedicated to this project from start to finish. Also, thank you for your patience and support during the discussions with the City. Fortunately, the new ordinance introduced by Pete Festersen will make this type of project easier going forward (see enclosed article) {also copied below}. Thanks again for all your hard work!"
The Wyman Heights sign will fit into its landscape as the seasons change:
From the omaha.com's Public Pulse, Oct 7, 2012:
Ordinance cuts signage red tape
After hearing from several neighborhood associations in my district, I introduced and the Omaha City Council unanimously passed a new ordinance that cuts red tape and reduces the financial burden on neighborhoods pursuing neighborhood signage and identification projects.
It consolidates applications and permits and exempts them from annual lease payments and insurance requirements.
The ordinance is significant because it lets such neighborhoods as Dundee-Memorial Park, Wyman Heights, Country Club Hills, Clairmont Heights and Harvey Oaks pursue projects that were cost prohibitive.
It was even more significant, however, in that it sent the message that neighborhood betterment should be encouraged, not discouraged, by city government. It sent the message that we listen and respond to neighborhood concerns.
I thank the Planning and Public Works Departments for working with the City Council to get this accomplished in an expedited fashion, allowing these projects to proceed.
