Signworks, Inc. – Proud to be Female Owned and Operated
Signworks was founded in 1935, and today the fourth-generation company is run by the original founders' great-granddaughters, Gaby Ryan and Mikaela Layson.
In an industry that is predominantly been male-led, Gaby and MIkaela have led Signworks through continued growth year after year. The sisters have retained the philosophy that their great grandparents founded the company on: Business is important – family comes first.
Signworks now has 25 employees and each one is considered family to the owners.
“Our staff is our most valuable asset at Signworks,” said Gaby.
When it comes to businesses, rules and regulations established by HR departments are important and necessary, but at Signworks we don’t want to lose sight of real of life. Most of our employees have families and responsibilities that require them to be gone at times. Both Gaby and Mikaela are working moms who value the flexibility that allows a work-life balance that meets family and business needs. That trickles down to our employees as well.
“Our employees know that we understand that family comes first and we trust them when it comes to business,” said Mikaela. Employee satisfaction is just as important as customer satisfaction at Signworks, and creating a friendly work environment is our priority. As a result, we have built a dedicated staff that work hard and enjoy life.
We are proud to be a female-led company, and proud to have created a unique working environment that place a high value on a work/life balance. Our founders would be proud to see that the principal of valuing family first that the company was founded on is still a driving force today.
